Two Teams Crowned Champions

This week concluded OR’s baseball season with two great events.  Monday's event featured two league championship games played at the Town Park fields.  The Mustang division was won by the #1seeded OR Cubs who defeated the #2 seeded Huntsville Recreation in an instant classic by a score of 6-to-5.  The Bronco division featured the 3rd seeded Oak Ridge Lofter's squad vs the 5th seeded Oak Ridge Young's squad.  Both teams had pulled upsets over higher ranked teams to make it to the championship game.  In the end, the Lofter's team took home the league title.

Tuesday night featured the Shetland and Pinto teams who played in a round-robin type tournament to conclude their seasons.  All ORYA baseball and softball families were invited to attend this event.  Players received Kona Ice, Domino's pizza, face painting, and participated wiffle ball games.

We want to thank all of the players and families for their commitment to ORYA and to the ORYA baseball program.  A special thank you to the volunteers who put in countless hours contributing to the development of our ORYA baseball players.  The league does not happen without this type of commitment and support.
